The Technology

The Brightwater tyre monitoring system consists of wheel mounted sensor/transmitters that continually monitor pressure and temperature. Each sensor transmits a low power radio signal with coded sensor data to the on board receiver. The interval between each sensors' transmission is variable to conserve sensor battery power, a higher rate when the pressure fluctuates or the tyre is hot, slower when the pressure is stable. Typically intervals are between 0.5 sec (2 Hz) and 30 secs, although intervals down to 0.05 sec. (20Hz) can be used.
The on-board receiver sends data to the vehicles system by RS232 or CAN bus. Optionally internal data logging can be specified or a remote driver display may be used for direct readout of data.
